A Little Help? Can Anyone Read Russian?

My sister-in-law and her fella stayed over with us recently, on their way to (and back from) their holiday in Russia (St Petersburg, Moscow and a river cruise in-between). “Bring me back a Russian beer!” I cheekily suggested. And they did:

Baltika? Russian Lager

Okay, so I’m guessing this is an actual Russian bottle of Baltika – but that’s just from the shape of the lettering. Can anyone shed any light? Am I right, or does the pronunciation of the cyrillic alphabet mean I’m actually looking at something completely different?

I’m also guessing it’s a lager, but I reckon that’s a no-brainer: green bottle, very pale beer. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong though. And if that wording under the ’2′ turns out to mean ‘non-alcoholic’ then I’m going to be properly miffed…

Yep, that’s Baltika 2, their pale lager.

The wording under the 2 is telling you to look for money under the cap. You could be rolling in roubles!

Cheers, Beer Nut! And the potential for money under the cap, y’say? Hot damn, pass me my bottle-opener! :)

If you win you have to send them a text, but I can’t see any problem with a Russian company having your mobile number.

What could possibly go wrong..? :)
