Video: ‘For the Dead Men’ by Lucy Ward

BBC Folk Awards 2012 Horizon Award winner Lucy Ward justifiably grabbed plenty of attention with her hugely accomplished and highly energetic 2011 debut album, Adelphi Has to Fly, a rather fabulous mash-up of trad and modern folk songs that’s well worth a few repeat listens.

With her first single release, the protest song ‘For the Dead Men’, Lucy demonstrates that she’s an artist with a strong political conscience as well as an ear for an uplifting tune.
