Bury Beer Festival 2011 @TheMet This Weekend

Bury Beer Festival 2011

This year’s Bury Beer Festival runs from midday through to midnight on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November at The Met in Bury town centre, which is easily reachable via tram from Manchester city centre.

I haven’t been able to find a beer list yet, but a press release that arrived earlier this week informed me: “Confirmed so far for this years festival are; Outstanding Brewery, Greenmill Brewery, Irwell Brewery, Brightside Brewery and Leyden Brewery. The festival will also feature a range of ales on Automatic’s bar and Malt’s Bar and a Ramsbottom Festival Bar featuring Elbow’s Build A Rocket Boys! and a White Chocolate Porter made using white chocolate from Ramsbottom’s The Chocolate Café.”

White Chocolate Porter? The mind boggles.

The highlight of last year’s event was surely the Tandleman-run CAMRA bar, but there isn’t going to be a repeat this year, alas; not enough volunteers to run it from amongst the local CAMRA branch members (I’m guilty of non-volunteering myself, I have to confess).

Anyhow, Jo and I are hoping to head on up the tram tracks on Friday evening. Or maybe Saturday evening. Or both. Not sure yet, but we’ll be definitely there at some point.
